Boardman Park and Recreation District Wraps up Another Season of Youth Volleyball!
October 2025- This fall, Boardman Park and Recreation District’s volleyball program welcomed around 45 athletes across four teams ranging from 3rd to 6th grade. With participation continuing to rise, it was exciting to see so many young players developing their skills and confidence on the court! This year, the schedule was planned to allow athletes the chance to participate in both soccer and volleyball with minimal overlap or conflict. The staggered approach gave students more opportunities to stay active —something that is a big goal of BPRD as it continues to expand its youth offerings.
A huge thank you goes out to the dedicated volunteer coaches who made this season possible! Their time, energy, and encouragement helped create a positive experience for the players and their families. BPRD Sports Coordinator, Rachel Lafferty shared that, “the coaches have helped our young players find their footing, their confidence, and prepare them to continue to play volleyball at higher levels. Thank you for making it happen!”
The season concluded with an exciting end-of-season Jamboree hosted right here in Boardman. Nearly 20 teams from across the region came together to play at Sam Boardman Elementary, Windy River Elementary, and the Boardman Rec Center. The day was filled with great competition, smiles, and sportsmanship—a perfect way to close out the season.
Boardman Park and Recreation would also like to extend a special thank-you to the Riverside High School Volleyball team for their incredible support at the Jamboree. The team helped with setup, refereeing, and cleanup, showing what it means to invest in the next generation of athletes. Their example and leadership serve as inspiration for the younger players just beginning their volleyball journey.
It was truly a season to remember, and BPRD looks forward to seeing even more athletes and families join in the fun next year!
